Hey y’all!

So I’ve been away for a while as you know. I’ve also endured major life changes (as you know) and I am here to of course share what I’ve learned during this time so that maybe you can apply it to your own life if you choose.

So, during my engagement (and relationship), I wasn’t really “allowed” to do what was necessary to cater to and grow my business. My business suffered greatly and my sales were as low as ever! They were even lower than when I first started my business years ago!!! When I got back to Los Angeles a month ago, I began spreading my wings and figuring out new ways to promote myself and my brand. This included taking necessary promotional pictures, upgrading my website and being the face of my own brand again.

It’s been so much easier finding photographers in Los Angeles who are available at the drop of a dime so this helped with rebuilding my website back up. This is extremely important for a quick turn over.

I struggled with my website for so long and I often stressed myself out trying to make it something that it was never going to be in the place that I was in. Not a lot of people were on the same page as me, nobody really had the same ideas and headspace and the product I thought I wanted took forever to get to me and once it got to me it wasn’t what I wanted but I was forced to try to push it because I invested in it. #thestruggle

My website now is pretty clean with high quality photos and look who it is! ME! Now, I know I’ll get tired of modeling for my own site but for now I AM MY OWN BRAND! I stressed the importance of this in my booklet “How I Became My Own Business“. Anyway, check out the screenshot of my website now.

Also, when I would take promotional photos for my personal brand and/or image to boost sales, I would constantly be ridiculed and it made it very difficult to promote effectively. Below is an example of how I used to promote and then how I promote now.

Unoriginal, inside the box, “not really happy to be doing it this way but we’ll try it”, setting up a tripod and trying to get the best angle I could… etc… You get it..

Genuinely a happy and natural moment, creativity, someone to help portray the best angles to sell the product, natural settings, etc.. YOU UNDERSTAND!

So basically, I let myself slip for the past year by allowing someone else to determine how I would live my life. Someone really famous and popular once said,

“Blindly in love, I fucks with you
‘Til I realize, I’m just too much for you
I’m just too much for you”,

and I would apply that to not only my situation but a lot of others. I hope this helped you as much as it helped me. The best teacher is experience for me so if I hadn’t gone through it, I wouldn’t have really applied & appreciated this.

Much Love,

Chriss
